About Uni

University High School Charter, or Uni, offers a wide range of personalized learning programs. On our campus we have a Math, Art, Science, and Technology Magnet, an Honors Program, and a Communication Arts Academy. We offer 24 Advanced Placement courses. Most of our core subjects are offered with an honors option, and we have many electives. Our students gain acceptance to some of the best universities in the nation, including Northwestern, UCLA, UC Berkeley, UCSD, UCSB, UCI, Columbia, and more.

University High School sits on a beautiful 24-acre campus in West Los Angeles. Our campus is built atop a freshwater spring that was used for centuries by the Gabrieleno Tongva people, and a portion of our campus is dedicated California State Historical Site 522.

Students are encouraged to be involved and get the most out of their high school experience. Our students enjoy participating in many athletic teams such as football, soccer, basketball, tennis, baseball, softball, track, cross country, swimming, and golf. Our drill team, cheer squad, drum line, and leadership students promote school spirit. Our theater program is planning two musicals for next year and our jazz ensemble hosts an annual winter concert.

Uni has a rich tradition of excellence, and we take pride in our linguistic, ethnic, and gender identity diversity. Uni students were born all over the world, and speak over 23 different languages. As a result, we have one of the most welcoming and diverse campuses in the Los Angeles Unified School District. The attendance area that Uni serves encompasses the neighborhoods of West Los Angeles, Brentwood, Bel-Air, and Westwood. University High School’s student body reflects the diversity of Los Angeles, with students born in 47 different countries coming to us through LAUSD Choices from all over the city.
